1. Who is AST? [Back to Top]
Adhesive Systems Technology (AST) is a designer and manufacturer of all types of meter, mix and dispense equipment for single and plural components for over 20 years. AST manufactures equipment that dispenses materials such as epoxies, polyureas, urethanes, silicones, and fire stop materials.
We are a member of ICRI and the PDA and are the leader in material pumping technologies. AST is recommended by most of the top material manufactures and offers several types of pumps such as gearotor, cylinder and rod metering to match up best with your particular application and material.
2. What is the purpose of this equipment? [Back to Top]
In short, each system will make you money by increasing productivity, decreasing waste, assuring proper ratio and dispense rates. Each machine does this by metering, mixing and dispensing materials at their precise set ratio.
It reduces labor costs by eliminating the requirement of additional workers to operate bulk loading cartridge guns or hand mix. These machines are used for cartridge filling, molds, bead dispensing, coating lines, foam gaskets, potting and a host of other applications. It allows you to purchase the material in bulk saving in material costs.
3. Why should I pick AST? [Back to Top]
AST is the premier supplier of meter, mix and dispense systems to the construction and industrial segments. AST is the only manufacturer that is recommended by the leading manufacturers of polyureas, epoxies, silicones, fire stop, and urethanes.
We rely on 20 years of experience of engineering and manufacturing pumping systems for our customers. AST offers the largest selection of equipment, which assures you that we have the right pump for your line of work.
4. How do I pick the correct pump? [Back to Top]
AST will assist in determining the correct system based upon material, required flow rates, shot size, and application. There is a Material Application Data Sheet, which will need to be filled out for an evaluation.
5. Do you sell through distributors? [Back to Top]
We sell directly to to the end customer. There are quite a few distributors who have purchased our equipment and either rented or sold it to their customers.
6. How do I know it will do what you say? [Back to Top]
Each machine is wet tested, meaning we make it run for us before it runs for you, and must meet a rigorous quality control test at our factory in Minnesota before it is shipped. Our equipment is backed by our 6-month warranty, which is twice as long as other equipment manufacturers.
7. Whose material do you recommend? [Back to Top]
We do not recommend or specify specific materials.
8. Can I change and use different materials? [Back to Top]
Always consult the factory before switching materials. Before changing materials, the following criteria must be taken into account.
9. What if my pump needs repair? [Back to Top]
With each system comes a spare parts kit and manual with trouble shooting guide and instructions. Each operator should be able to perform just about all repairs and maintenance. We also offer customer service and support by phone. If it cannot be fixed, it can be shipped to AST for evaluation and repair.
AST also offers field training and classes at our facility.
